Accredited by professional associations

I’m a member of ACE Traductores, the Spanish literary translators’ association, and CEDRO, a non-profit association that protects authors’ rights, and am also a member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI) in the United Kingdom. I adhere to the ITI’s Code of Conduct, which includes a clause on confidentiality and a commitment to professional development. I am ISO 17100:2015 qualified – this is the quality standard for freelance translators.

Education and training

  • A minimum of 30 hours of continuing professional development (CPD) per year, as recommended by the Institute of Translation and Interpreting.
  • English to Spanish translation of children’s and young adult literature (40 hours), AulaSIC (2023).
  • Edwin Morgan Translation Fellowship, translation of contemporary British and Scottish literature, Scottish Universities’ International Summer School (2021).
  • Practical training in literary translation (ACE Traductores mentorship, 2020) and seminars on book translation (CPD).
  • MSc in Translation and Conference Interpreting, Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, Scotland (2003).
  • Degree in English Language and Literature (Honours), University of Deusto (2000). Erasmus year in Manchester, England.
  • Cambridge Proficiency in English, University of Cambridge (2000).
